Privacy policy

The controller is the natural or legal person who alone or jointly with others determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data.

2. Hosting

This website is hosted with an external service provider (the host). The personal data collected on this website are stored on the host's servers.

The host is used for the purpose of performing the contract with my potential and existing clients (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR) and in the interest of secure, fast and efficient provision of this website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with the host.

Server log files

The host automatically collects information in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits. These are:

• browser type and browser version
• operating system used
• referrer URL (the page visited previously)
• host name of the accessing computer
• time of the server request
• IP address

These data are not merged with other data sources. Collection takes place on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — I have a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and the security of my website. The log files are deleted automatically after a short period.

3. Cookies and local storage

This website uses no tracking, analytics or advertising cookies. No analytics services, no advertising networks and no social media pixels are embedded.

Only your browser's local storage (localStorage) is used, in order to remember that you have already seen the cookie notice. Only a technical value is stored; nothing is transmitted to me or to third parties. You can delete this value at any time through your browser settings. The legal basis is § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

4. Fonts and images

All fonts (web fonts) and images are served locally from this website's own server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or to any other external content delivery network. Accessing this website therefore transmits none of your data to Google or comparable providers.

5. Contact form

If you send me enquiries via the contact form, the details you provide in the form — your name, e-mail address, optionally your telephone number and subject, and your message — are processed in order to handle your enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. The transmission takes place by e-mail to the address given above.

FormSubmit sending service (transfer to the USA)

The contact form is sent using the service FormSubmit (formsubmit.co). When you submit the form, the details you entered are transmitted to the provider's servers in the USA, converted into an e-mail there and forwarded to my e-mail address given above. According to the provider, the content is not stored permanently.

This involves a transfer of your data to a third country for which no level of data protection equivalent to European law has been established. In particular, it cannot be ruled out that US authorities may access these data and that no effective legal remedies are available to you against this. The legal basis for the transfer is your explicit consent under Art. 6 (1) (a) in conjunction with Art. 49 (1) (a) GDPR, which you give by ticking the box and submitting the form. You may withdraw this consent at any time with effect for the future.

If you would prefer not to, please use the telephone, e-mail or WhatsApp instead — no data are transmitted to FormSubmit in that case.

These data are processed on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to the initiation or performance of a contract. In all other cases, processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), which you give by ticking the box when submitting the form. You can withdraw this consent at any time with effect for the future — an informal e-mail is sufficient. The lawfulness of the processing carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected.

Your data remain with me until you ask me to delete them, withdraw your consent, or the purpose of storage no longer applies (for example once your enquiry has been dealt with). Mandatory statutory retention periods — in particular under commercial and tax law — remain unaffected.

Spam protection

The contact form contains a hidden field (a so-called honeypot) which humans do not fill in and which serves exclusively to block automated spam messages. No additional personal data are collected in the process.

6. Contact by telephone, e-mail or WhatsApp

If you contact me by telephone, e-mail or WhatsApp, your details including the contact data you provide are stored in order to handle your request and in case of follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures or performance of a contract) or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in handling enquiries).

Note on WhatsApp: this website contains a link to WhatsApp. It is a plain link — data are only transmitted to the provider once you click the link and send a message. The provider is WhatsApp Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, Ireland. The provider's own privacy terms apply to the processing of your data by WhatsApp. If you do not want this, please use the telephone, e-mail or the contact form.

7. External links

This website contains links to external pages. You only reach the respective provider's page, and data are only transmitted to that provider, once you click such a link. Map or video services are not embedded in this website, so no data are transmitted merely by opening a page.

8. SSL / TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the address bar of your browser changing from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol. When encryption is active, the data you transmit to me cannot be read by third parties.

9. Your rights

Within the scope of the applicable law you have the right at any time to:

• information about your stored personal data (Art. 15 GDPR)
• rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
• erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
• restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
• data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
• objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
• withdrawal of consent already given, with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR)

10. Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

In the event of infringements of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement. The competent authority for the controller is:

Documents and information you provide to me in the course of an assignment are treated confidentially and are used exclusively for carrying out that assignment. They are not passed on to third parties unless this is necessary in order to perform the assignment (for example submitting an application to the competent authority) and you have instructed me to do so. After the assignment has been completed, documents are returned or deleted, subject to statutory retention obligations.

This privacy policy is updated whenever changes to the website or to the legal situation make it necessary. The current version always applies and can be retrieved on this page at any time.
